Plovdiv is absolutely ready for the World Rowing Cup from 10 to 12 May.
Cameron Allen, FISA World Rowing Manager, gave his assessment after a three-day inspection of the canal and the preparation of the Organizing Committee.
“ Plovdiv is ready to accept the first championship of the year from the World Rowing Federation calendar. "For all competitors, the Rowing Channel in Plovdiv is known as one of the best and fastest in the world. The three rounds of the World Cup are among the most important regattas before the qualification for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. We are looking forward to a very challenging race that will be a final preparation for the Olympics, "said Cameron Allen.
“On 5 May the Municipality of Plovdiv is closing the route of the rowing canal and it will be available only to the participants in the regatta. From 8 to 12 May, the facility with the adjoining infrastructure will be closed for citizens and cars, and on May 9, all the facilities will be tested”, said Ivan Popov, the chairman of the organizing committee.
The World Cup will be broadcasted by the Bulgarian National Television.
