The first two finals raced at World Rowing Cup I in Plovdiv, Bulgaria with the lightweight men’s and women’s single sculls. European Champion, Alena Furman showed continued form and Peter Galambos dominated the men’s race.
World Rowing Cup I in Plovdiv, Bulgaria moved on to a morning of semifinals to help decide the remaining boats for tomorrow’s finals. A warm day with a bit of a tail wind breeze causing some bumps in the water was the conditions for these rowers.
Beautiful sunshine and around 20 degrees Celsius met these athletes. On the water it was near perfect conditions with just a very slight breeze. Later in the day the rain fell and a small tail wind made for faster times. Today saw the return to the women’s single sculls of both Ekaterina Karsten of Belarus and Mirka Knapkova of the Czech Republic. Read on to see how they did.
